University of Richmond

Application for the IQ Science Course

Students interested in applying to the program must fill out an application before July 10. Those who submit the application by July 10 will be notified about their acceptance by July 17, a week before the start of class registration for the fall. Accepted students will be sent instructions on how to register for the course.

Though many students applying to the program will have taken at least one AP/IB course in high school, AP/IB credit is not mandatory for acceptance. Applicants are not simply evaluated by the courses they have taken and grades received but by their broad interest in science. Students who have taken AP/IB courses may receive AP credit for the courses that the IQS course replaces. Although they may experience some overlap in material, the IQ Science course is devoted to the integration of the material that lies at the interface of the 5 disciplines
